After Christmas break, comes the long bleak days of winter and NO breaks until the much anticipated Spring Break! As the bleak days of winter loom over us with dark, dreary days, we tend to focus on negative aspects of our teaching, students and sometimes even out co-workers.
This year, I decided to make a conscious effort to find something good in every day. It may be something as simple as the classroom stayed relatively clean today! But when I really started looking for the good, I found so much more. The one student that has the ability to drive you crazy, becomes the student who is the perfect student to run errands or deliver notes for you. The students who just seem to never "get it" become the students who try so hard to understand and then....they get it!
My challenge to you, find something good in everyday! It doesn't have to be a huge thing, but sometimes those little things turn into really big things!
